How will a remote dog silencer stop problem barking?
That’s easy! Place the speaker unit in proximity to where the dog usually barks from so it can hear the ultrasonic frequency. When the dog barks, the unit will automatically activate and emit a sound that’s inaudible to humans but annoys dogs.
The dog reacts, stops barking, the noise stops, the dog learns that when it barks the noise happens and when it stops, so does the noise.
What kind of range are we talking?
The sound is audible to dogs up to around 300 feet. The closer you get the unit to the dog, the more effective it will be. If it’s your dog, we recommend placing the unit close to where it barks but not next to its ears. If it’s a neighbor’s dog, place the unit in your yard facing the dog.
The remote control has a range of up to 75 feet too.
Does a dog silencer hurt the dog?
Dog silencers don’t hurt the dog in any way. We wouldn’t sell them if they did. Ultrasonic frequencies annoy the dog, which is fine with us. The idea is that the noise startles the dog enough to stop it barking, as the barking stops, so does the noise.
The dog will not like the noise, which is why it works. However, the noise is not harmful, will not hurt the dog’s ears or change its personality in any way.
Won't a dog barking stopper that emits sound also wake everyone up?
No, it won’t! These dog silencers emit ultrasonic sound that’s inaudible to humans. Dog’s hearing is much more sensitive to ours and they can hear frequencies we cannot. Dogs find ultrasonic frequencies annoying but they won’t harm them.
That’s why this dog barking control solution works so well. The sound teaches the dog not to bark without harming it and without annoying the neighbors!
Does the dog silencer replace training?
Nothing replaces consistent dog training. If it’s your dog creating the ruckus, you’ll need to increase the training to reinforce the behavior you want while correcting the behavior you don’t. The dog silencer is there for when you’re not around or when you’re trying to sleep!
Will I need to wire up the dog silencer?
No, you won’t need to wire up the dog silencer. It is battery operated and uses AA batteries to produce the noise and work the detector. You can wire it up to an AC feed if you like but you don’t need to.
What’s the dog silencer remote for if it’s automatic?
The remote control is for when the dog barks outside the automatic detection range of the unit. If the unit doesn’t activate automatically, you can use the remote to manually activate it and still have the desired effect.
Timing is everything though. You’ll need to activate the unit quickly and then stop it immediately the dog stops barking for it to get the message!
