No! These dog repellent devices are designed to repel problem barking, not dogs themselves! Your dog will be perfectly safe and happy in your home. The idea is to only use the device to correct problem behaviors and at no other time.

How is sound we cannot hear effective in dog training?

Dogs are many times more sensitive to sound than humans and can hear frequencies we cannot. By using those ultrasonic frequencies, you have an effective training tool that does not harm or stress the dog and won’t annoy the neighbors either.

Do dog repellents harm the dog?

None of the dog barking stoppers we sell harm the dog in any way. We would never sell, nor recommend any training product that caused harm or stress to a dog.

All products use surprise to interrupt the dog’s train of thought. Ultrasonic noise annoys the dog but will not harm it. Used correctly, you can use minimal annoyance to influence the behaviors you want and stop the behaviors you don’t.

How can I use dog repellent devices to stop problem barking?

Dogs don’t like ultrasonic sound so will stop whatever they are doing at the time. Stopping the sound when the barking stops and starting it when barking starts again will quickly teach the dog the annoying sound only appears when it barks. Thereby teaching the dog to not bark when you don’t want it to!

Can I use just sound or just vibration to train my dog?

Yes, you can use just sound or just vibration. Different dogs react to different stimuli so you may find one more effective than the other. It will be a matter of trial and error to begin with until you identify which works best.

Some dogs will respond better to the vibration while others to the sound. Some dogs may need both!

Do I still need to train my dog if I use dog repellents?

Yes, you do still need to train your dog even if you use dog repellent devices. Stopping the behavior is only part of the process. The other part is using positive reinforcement to teach the dog when it’s appropriate to bark and when it isn’t.

Will my dog still guard my property if I stop it barking?

As long as you only use dog barking control devices to tackle problem barking, the dog will still follow its instincts at other times. We want to correct problem behaviors and not change the dog’s nature.
